But I haven't miss you yet Only when I stop to think about it
Lithe black form moved through the dead of night, silvery banner trailing out behind her like a ghost. She moved at a slow and steady pace, leisurely some would say, but in truth it was depression the dictated her gait. She missed her brother Mika dearly, not even Rift as dear as he had come to be to her could take the place of her twin. Fiery eyes stared straight ahead, the light within them dulled with the weight of the young mare's burden, the dark flowers passed unnoticed as she crossed the field. Nothing seemed the same without Mika at her side, without the love they had shared the world was as good as dead. On and on she walked, farther and farther away from her half brother her mind devoid of any goal or thought other then the gap in her heart one heartless bitch had carved. Padding silently behind and two the left, keeping her distance and her thoughts to herself was a light gray lynx; tuffed ears and piercing eyes ever alert for what her companion was sure to miss. Once and a while she would pause, turning to look at an unfamiliar sound before bounding forward to keep pace with the wayward mare.
Finally she paused, head turning up as she turned her gaze to the sky and moon. Scattered clouds passed in front of the waning celestial body and Tonka wondered if Mika was staring at the same sky right now or if their motherDelphian had him locked up someplace underground where he would no longer be able to see the wonders of night. The very thought brought a mournful wail from Tonka, it fell and rose in pitch as her breath caught than eventually died out all together. Sitting to her side the lynx watched the young black mare with interest wondering what had brought forth such a lamenting sound from her new friend. Her question when unasked as at that very moment Tonka had spoken her first word since the pair left Rift's side. "Mika..." Tilting her head in curiosity Nyx finally spoke as well. "Why does this Mika pain you so?" Even though they've been together for days the pair hadn't truly bonded, nor had the mare spoken of her past to the Iberian lynx who was now bond to her in spirit. Nyx assumed that after three years of living without a companion Tonka was just not ready to open up to another that just entered her life, she'd come around in time.
Tonka looked down at the feline, her face visibly hurt, just how could she tell this stranger about the pain and heartbreak she suffers from. How she lost her brother, about the love she yearns for with all her being. "I...nevermind..." She closed her eyes and turned away with a sigh, her body visibly drooping from the weight she carried on her heart. Brow furrowing in worry Nyx stood up and walked to Tonka's side, nudging her head against the mare's front cannon. "They meant a lot to you didn't they?" Nyx didn't expect an answer from her companion, Tonka however nodded faintly and sighed again. Lowering her head she paused with her muzzle an inch above the feline's head, hesitating at the unfamiliarity of the motion, than lightly lipped at the fur. Everything about this Nyx who joined her not to long ago was strange to her, it was something she herself had never experienced until now and she was unsure as to how they were suppose to interact if at all. She had seen horses with strange animals following them around before, Delphian was one of them. But she had never asked the black demoness what it was like having a non equine companion tagging along wherever she went. "Mika's my brother." the words though whispered were easily picked up by Nyx who purred lightly in reassurance. "You'll see him again one day."
I hate everything about you Why do I love you?

Lydia A small creature fluttered beneath the flowers of the valley, his gray spotted body disappearing and reappearing in flashes beneath the glowing petals. His nose flicked, whiskers rising and falling as the cautious creature inhaled scents. He'd chosen to stray from his mistress, scouting out the path so that he may alert the young mare of potential dangers. The hunter's warnings, however, were rarely heeded, for the filly believed nothing in the world was meant to harm. Indeed, she believed there was good in everyone, and she only had to search for it to find it... much to the dismay of this aggressive little rodent. His ringed tail flicked like a cat, his body halting and head raising as he caught the sound of others in the vicinity. Rounded ears perked in their direction, his nose twitching more rapidly now. Potential danger lurked just ahead; a young black mare and a lynx! Surely Lydia would heed the warning the wind bore her of this vicious predator? Even as the thought occurred to him, it was dismissed without speculation. Smoothly, he turned to the side and dashed off to find the foolish mare and attempt to dissuade the overtures he was certain she would make.
Scampering across the dampened Earth, the African Civet found his mistress in no time at all. The filly was standing still, her eyes closed, as she inhaled deeply the sweet scent of the flowers adorning these lands. The illuminating glow given off by the purple flowers kissed her hide, dancing off the white on her face and hinting at the liver bay of her pelt. With a smile of recognition, the flicka opened her eyes and stretched her muzzle down to the civet, her ears pricked forward in greeting even though no words met her companion. He, however, was not as pleasant. Beady black eyes gazed up in hers, the plead overwhelming in his eyes. Lydia, please, I beg you, turn around. I don't want to do battle today - especially not with a lynx! The little weasel pleaded, placing his forepaws on the bridge of her nose. The minx only smiled broader, a twinkle in her eyes as she digested the news this creature brought her. I take it, then, you've found company for us? She queried, even as her companion bristled at her lack of consideration for his pleas. Come on, we can't be rude! Let's go find them and introduce ourselves. Without waiting for the rodent's reply, the filly gingerly picked him up with her teeth and placed him on her back. As he curled up in a ball just behind her withers and muttered about the insanities of mares, the draft cross stepped out from the grove she'd settled in.
Without the help of her scout, the mare had a bit more trouble at finding the suspected duo than he. Trusting her nose, the filly followed the scent trail her weasel had hoped would drive her off. Every step that drew her closer only made her a bit more shy, until she was hesitating where she couldn't see nor be seen. Her ears flicked forward, catching the mournful cry of the other, followed by the conversation shared between big cat and horse. The rodent unfurled himself from his ball, climbing along the crest of the mare's mane until he rested between her ears. They're mourning, Lia, let them be! The weasel's renewed protests filled her ears, his hushed tones meant for her ears only. All the more reason to make friends then, Sinny. The mare responded, though not nearly as hushed. Indeed, her words may have been picked up by the cat and equine she had yet to lay eyes on. Let's hesitate no longer. She added, before the two year old boldly stepped out of hiding and approached the cat and horse. Sinbad burrowed in the filly's thick forelock, his tail twitching irritably and nose twitching furiously - both of which remained unhidden. Hello, Lydia timidly greeted, ignoring her companion's attempts to hide. I'm Lydia; my companion's Sinbad. May I ask who you may be?
