General
Name: Kreios(means lord in Greek)
Nickname: haven't thought of one yet
Age: 7 years
Gender: stallion
Breed: Thoroughbred
Alliance: Air
Description
Description: Kreios is a lithe-built, but muscular stallion with long legs and a powerful gaze. His eyes are black as night and have endless depths; they twinkle with his light-hearted and obnoxious humor and darken when he becomes angry. He is thin, his ribs show, but his coat shines in good health. He is classified as a brown, with many different shades of various dark and light browns mixed together to create his handsome maze of a pelt. His legs all darken to black at the hooves, which are a light gray and flash when he runs. His mane and tail are both black and short. He has a bit of a Roman nose, one that goes along with his pride.
Personality
Personality: Kreios is a kind, gentlemanly horse. He is very much the ladies' man and likes a challenging girl, but is usually kind with all of them. While he does play to their weaknesses and loves a good game, Kreios is also somewhat arrogant and thinks highly of himself, or rather, he likes to act like he does, to tease the girls. He is very light-hearted and friendly, happy to make friends and doesn't enjoy being the source of conflict within a group. He is quite peaceable and is rarely angry, but his temper is something to see. When unhappy or angry, Kreios is often simply unbearable, you can't be around him and be happy while he is not. On the other hand, he is usually willing to put others first and doesn't give in to his desire to smack someone over the head to make them shut up. He himself likes to talk, exaggerate, thrill the crowds. He is a people horse, as it were, and knows how to make the people happy. He can be reckless and has little regard for himself, even though he likes to act like he's an arrogant, self-absorbed little thing, Kreios doesn't care much for himself, he doesn't mind a few scars or bumps along the otherwise perfectly smooth road. He seems to contradict himself somewhat in this way, but it doesn't bother him and others don't seem to mind, with him so willing to put them first.
Kreios can keep one hell of a grudge. He doesn't like being messed with and doesn't take things such as friends and mates lightly. He has a romantic mind, but that doesn't mean he won't fight for what he believes in. Kreios is sickened by the idea of forcing mares, and is very much the jokester's gentleman, so he hates to watch mares be forced. He wouldn't ever hurt a mare unless he completely lost his temper and even then, instinct is against it. The only time he went after a mare was warranted and even then, it still haunts him, because she'd been defenseless and it had been the first time he killed in cold blood. That act will follow him for all time and he dislikes to be reminded of that violent moment in time for him. He can fight and can fight well, and enjoys fighting for a good cause, but hates the idea of killing in cold blood again. He is happy to stand up for the underdog and enjoys playing the hero.
History
History: Kreios was born to a small herd in the Air territories, to his father who owned a land of his own, and kept a neat little herd of loyal mares and a single soldier who helped protect the area, along with his mate and child. Kreios was the son of the stallion's second mare, not the lead mare, but because the lead mare had been unable to concieve thus far, Kreios was treated like the next heir. He could barely stand before his father had decided to name him Prince of the territory, much to the lead mare's disgust, as a long-standing competition had been waged between the lead mare, named Circe and Kreios's mother, Minerva, who had been the first mare claimed by the stallion. They were both very loyal to him and loved him dearly, but Circe had been chosen to become lead mare because of her ability to lead, not because the stallion loved her more; in fact, his favorite mare was neither Circe nor Minerva, but the quiet femme who was his third claimed mare and a gentle soul had had already born him one daughter. He probably liked her the most because she didn't spend her entire life arguing, as Circe and Minerva did. Kreios soon became the source of their incessant bickering and whining, the reason that Circe felt undermined and the push that Minerva had needed to put the lead mare in her place. Their fighting would go on and on, until the lead stallion finally put an end to it by telling Circe that if the fighting didn't stop, she would lose her position as lead mare.
Circe was smart. She realized that if he didn't have a problem with taking her position away and getting rid of her, then he didn't care that much for her. Minerva had somehow managed to completely ruin everything she had in this herd, successfully taking away her mate, position, and herd with the birth of a single foal. Infuriated, Circe went after the mare, determined to destroy her. Kreios watched as the two mares fought furiously and beat each other down. Circe emerged as victor, kicking the bloody body into a ditch and bearing down on Kreios, who watched her with fearful eyes. But Circe was still smart. She knew that Kreios had his father's approval and that she could win her stallion over with his help. So she terrified the youngling into silence, telling him she would kill him if he didn't go along with what she said, and then went to the lead stallion and said that Minerva had been trying to run away with Kreios, believing that the lead didn't love her anymore. He was saddened, but relieved to see that Circe had "rescued" Kreios and welcomed her as lead mare again. Kreios, however, was scarred forever by the twisted mare's plotting and kept a careful eye on her, never letting the two of them end up alone. He was terrified of her, and yet, held the deepest grudge against her for killing his mother right in front of him, and as he grew older, Kreios would realize that it had all been just for a name. This infuriated him.
He turned two that year and recieved his wings, powers, and his companion. Kreios would also turn to the third mare, named Rachel, and her son for comfort. He found a true mother in the quiet femme, who was always kind and gentle-tongued, never scolding him, as Circe often did. Circe was happy to find fault with everything he did, even in front of the lead stallion, as she was happy to remind him that Kreios was the son of the mare who had tried to betray him. Kreios hated her for speaking like that of his mother and was always on watch, not wanting to get caught alone with her ever. This was why he spent so much time with Octavia and her son, Jace. Jace and Kreios became very good friends during this period of time, close enough for Kreios to tell him the truth about his mother's "disappearance". Jace was outraged for him and had none of his mother's shyness or timidity. The two of them were quite close and confided in each other. Jace seethed over the unfairness of it all, his brother having to suffer Circe's abuse while knowing that she was the reason the only family who'd truly cared for him was gone. His father had more important things to worry about now, as there were several younger horses constantly harrassing him and trying to steal his mares and territory while he wasn't looking. Jace and Kreios were soon put under rigorous training in hopes that they would be able to properly defend what the lead stallion owned. They were both good fighters, but that didn't satisfy Kreios.
Now that Circe was acting like she owned the planet, he wanted to show that he was powerful as well. So, he left for a little while, telling only Jace his plan, and then came back with a young mare, who was quite in love with him and his ladies' man charm. She was stunningly beautiful and the lead stallion fell in love at once. Kreios won his father's support and respect with the offering of a young, beautiful mare. Now, the lead stallion was happy to let Kreios lead the herd and give orders, so that he could have time with this new darling. Circe was enraged. Minerva's child was going to undermine her as well! But she couldn't fight Kreios outright, because he could easily destroy her; he was trained and had the support of the herd behind him. Plus, Jace was always wary of her, keeping to Kreios's side whenever she approached, as if he suspected her. This concerned Circe and she resolved to get rid of both the stallions, which only took a little bit of her cunning. First, get rid of Jace and leave Kreios without his staunch supporter. She went to the lead stallion, while the new mare was away, and told him that his precious new mare was being courted by Jace. Angered, the lead went to throw Jace out, but Kreios quickly stood up for him and showed that the mare had been with Rachel the whole time. The lead demanded to know what Circe had been meaning by this lie, and Kreios told him everything. Infuriated, the lead wanted to kill Circe, but Kreios insisted that she be let to live. He wanted her to suffer in misery, alone.
Circe was thrown out, but she was beyond help. So driven by her rage and desire for revenge was she, that she went and attacked the first horse in the herd she could find, Rachel, who she took completely by surprise and killed mercilessly. Jace found the blood-covered witch and attacked her in a raging grief, but was blinded by his sorrow and she nearly killed him as well, even though he managed to land a heavy blow on her before Kreios reached the scene and knocked them apart, dragging his friend back before he got hurt. Angered by Rachel's senseless death, Kreios decided to take matters into his own hooves and went to Circe. Standing over her, watching her twist and shudder in her insane rage, one leg mangled by Jace, Kreios was disgusted by her state. Remembering his mother and Rachel, he lost his temper as she wailed and cowered, and killed her in cold blood. This event changed him. He was ashamed of his deed and hated himself for it, leaving the land and setting Jace as the inheritor to the throne. His friend wanted to go with him, but Kreios ordered him to stay, knowing that he had changed from the person his friend had known. He wandered for several years, unable to find a place he truly wanted to live in, until he found the Air Temple and discovered that there were lands he could claim and start over in.
